A smuggling bust has recently been made in the waters west of Hong Kong by officers from the Customs and Excise Department who seized around 16,000 Mark Six lottery tickets with some already qualifying for prize winnings of around HK$70,000 (US$8,918), reports HK01. They said that authorities believe that the tickets were being smuggled into Macau and mainland China, where they could be sold for big profits.
The tickets had been generated by computers and had a combined value of around HK$330,000. They were seized by the Customs and Excise Department last Wednesday after they intercepted a river vessel in the waters west of Hong Kong.
